The farm

Casabianca - the main house - is a stone building whose original structure and layout have been carefully preserved, despite the ravages of time, and indeed war.
On one of the walls there is a coat of arms dated 1572 showing that the building once belonged to the Hospital of S. Maria della Scala.io in pietra e conserva la pianta originale del XVI sec. All the rooms overlook the surrounding countryside and there's a fine courtyard with a wood-fired oven. From here you can get to the dining room where dinner is served every evening, and to a welcoming "cantina" for wine tasting and snacks.
The restaurant and the reception are situated in this building.

Poggio Bacoca - the annex- is in a panoramic position at the top of a hill facing Casabianca. It is reachable by car in less than 2 minuets. This red brick building was built during the 1930s for the farmers' families who were working on the estate. The house has some delightful bedrooms all with private bathroom and 2 sitting rooms. The name comes from the apricot trees that in the past were planted around the house.

The accommodation

We have furnished "Il Rigo" like a house, using old farm furniture, some of which are real antiques. The rooms, distributed between the farmhouses Casabianca and Poggio Bacoca, and looking out over the surrounding countryside with views of Pienza and Monte Amiata, are each unique and differ from each other in furnishings and decoration.

There are no TVs in our rooms. We think it's nicer to share a glass of wine with the other guests or read one of the travel books or magazines available.
