In this territory, about 750 thousand hectolitres of wine are produced each year, most of which belonging to 12 DOC wines and 5 DOCG wines.
The most famous wines are Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Senesi, Nobile di Montepulciano, Vernaccia da San Gimignano.
The excellent beef meat Chianina, the famous sheep's cheese from Pienza, the white truffles from San Giovanni d'Asso, the saffron from San Giignano, plus an exquisite extra virgin olive oil.
There are more specialities, like ''Cinta Senese'' pork breed, with its typical pink collar on a grey coat, whose meats are used to make ham, sausages, meat sauce and much more. Cookery offers strong flavours, close to our land, like ''pici' seasoned with wild boar sauce, mushrooms from the Mount Amiata, the famous Fiorentina steak with fillet and bone, not to mention fried Porcini mushrooms or cakes like ricciarelli, panforte or copate.
It is a hommage to a flavour rich in traditions and with a high territorial value.
