Montestigliano is a privately owned farm estate (agriturismo), spread over 2,475 acres. All our 18th century holiday farmhouses have been professionally restored to the highest level, and are fully equipped.

A group of 18th century houses and typical buildings of Tuscan countryside which have been carefully restored, retaining many of the original features common to Tuscan architecture.

Villa Donati
With its generous proportions and fine architectural features the house still gives a feeling of nobility being furnished with many fine pieces of antique furniture and decorations. This typical Tuscan villa (14 sleeps, 320mq approx), or Fattoria as it is know in Italian, was the principal house on the estate, built in the 18th century by the well known noble Roman family Aldobrandini, who purchased the land from the abbey of Torri (a small medieval village 2 km from Montestigliano, where the abbey still stands which can be visited). With its generous proportions and fine architectural features the house still gives a feeling of nobility being furnished with many fine pieces of antique furniture and decorations.
Ground floor, large entrance hall (with rear door into garden), dining room, lunge, kitchen with large open fireplace fully equipped with also a dishwsher, bathroom with shower; 2 single bedrooms. A stone staircase leads to a half landing with a twin bedroom; bathroom with shower.

Second floor: half bathroom; bathroom with bathtub. The backdoor opens into a large garden filled with fruit trees and vines and glorious views of the woodlands.

Casa Luisa
A traditional accommodation with a loggia which enjoys spectacular sunsets and peaceful views of the woodlands (sleeps 10, approx 175mq).
This is maybe one of the finest example of a traditional Tuscan “Casa Colonica” with all the traditional characteristics; an open arched balcony, an external covered staircase leads to a furnished loggia facing west which enjoys spectacular sunsets and peaceful views of the woodlands. There is also a partly covered terrace to the rear, which faces east overlooking the surrounding countryside, the skyline of Siena and the Chianti hills in the distance, where you can enjoy the sun, dine under the pergola or barbeque. Casa Marta
The apartment sleeps 6 (approx 125 mq.). An independent apartment centrally located in the heart of the estate directly across from the owners villa and the piazzale. Private access from the ground

Casa Massimo
Typical Tuscan house sleeps 4 (approx. 110mq.). Situated at the top of the estate near the chapel and Villa, this charming well appointed apartment was originally a hive of activity as a loft for the making of Vino Santo where large wine vats still stand below. Access is gained by an external staircase to the first floor. The house stands independently overlooking the olive groves and orchard with a private garden and semi-covered terrace to the side of the house. Large open plan living room with fire place, kitchen, 1 twin bedroom, 1 double bedroom, 2 bathrooms one with Tub and one with a shower.
Casa Virginia 1
The first apartment sleeps 4. (approx. 80mq). One of two apartment situated in one of the former farm worker’s house which still retains it’s rural simplicity with white washed walls and terracotta floors. Accommodations as are common with most Tuscan farmhouses are located on the upper floor, as the lower areas were used as storeroom, animal sties, and wine cantina’s, are situated on the ground floor. Access gained by external step leading to a narrow covered balcony furnished with wicker furniture. The house faces south overlooking the olive groves and cypress avenues and basks in the late afternoon sun... perfect for cocktails! Below is a large open garden. Casa Ropoli Sopra
One of two apartments situated on the approach to the main group overlooks the olive groves up to the main family house to the rear and the tiny hill top village of Orgia to the front. The upper apartment sleeps 4 (approx. 80 mq.). A traditional rural Tuscan house, situated on the approach to the main group of houses, approximately 300m below the summit of the hill. Casa Ropoli Sopra is one of two apartments in a large farmhouse. Approached by an external staircase leading to furnished loggia, south facing overlooking woodlands and the plain below. An open plan living room-dining room with large traditional alcove fireplace and kitchenette. 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, bathroom with bathtub.
Casa Ropoli Sotto
Ground floor apartment sleeps 6 (approx. 145 mq.). A traditional rural Tuscan house, situated on the approach to the main group of houses, approximately 300m below the summit of the hill. Spread out on three levels with views overlooking the olive groves up to the main family house to the rear and the tiny hill top village of Orgia to the front. The entrance on ground floor opens into a large living room-dining room, a stone staircase leads to an eat-in kitchen and a back door opens to a semi-covered, paved terrace with the original bread and baking ove nfurnished for eating open air. A further flight leads to the second floor: half bathroom, 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, 1 bathroom with bathtub and 1 bathroom with shower.
Casa Emilio
Our newest conversion was formerly home to Emilio one of the old sharecrop farmers on the estate who knew and understood the land like the palm of his hand. The house has been restored with the passion and respect for traditional Tuscan architecture, retaining the charm and character of an old farmhouse but also incorporates the creativity of Italian design today to offer a beautiful and comfortable dwelling for all seasons
The house stands independently on the edge of the hill, a stone’s throw from the main square. It is a haven of peace and quiet with complete privacy, west facing overlooking the undulating woodlands punctuated with cypress and umbrella pine trees.
The open plan kitchen- living room has a glass paned wall with sliding doors that open into a private garden. where you can catch the last rays of the sun. Also on the ground floor is a laundry room and half bathroom; double bedroom room with en suite bathroom. A short flight of stairs leads up to a further double bedroom with shower.
